Allow and Limit Dashboard pages for regular users/editors

Hello,

I have built a site that I have assigned a client as an editor by adding an Editors group with limited access for some actions but with edit access. I am currently using Advanced permissions.

My question is, is there a way to allow access to only particular dashboard pages. I gave the client permission to Approve conversations but without dashboard access they are unable to access the approval page.

Since the Dashboard > Conversations page is assigned permission "By Area of Site", I had to give permission to the Main Dashboard page to allow access to the message approval page. Changing only the permission for Dashboard > Conversations page to Assign Permissions "Manually" does not allow access to the approval page as only the logoff button is displayed in place of the dashboard menu.

Unfortunately you have to change the top level Dashboard page to give them access and then change each of the sub-pages that you do not want them to have access to in order to disallow it.

I've actually had some success with 5.6, granting user groups access to sub-dashboard pages without allowing them access to the dashboard page itself. Then simply provide links to those users that need to get to those pages. I'm not positive if the 5.7 functionality is different but you might give it a try.
