autonav multiple/different sort order (orderBy) depending on level

Can it be possible to sort different levels of the autonav block separately, for example:-
the top level in sitemap order 
$autonav->controller->orderBy = 'display_asc';

the second level/drop down list with the most recent first (orderBy = 'chrono_desc')

Sample sitemap
Home
> About Us
> Blog
>> Article Old
>> Article New
> Contact Us

Here Article New should appear above Article Old
