Best practise using simple permissions to create a single user for a group event
Permalink
I have a page on a dance school site that will be used as a repository for information on an event - practise dates, times, costume, etc., and should only be accessible to the participants of the event, not the general public.
I don't want to get overly complicated with it, as the event will be finished in 5 months and there are almost 100 participants.
I created a new user group with read-only permissions. In this group I created one user with a generic name (participant) a password and my email address.
The page's perminssions have also been changed , with that group as read-only.
One thing that flummoxes me is what happens when someone uses the wrong password? I guess there should be a note telling them "try again or contact the administrator" with my email address....
Anyway, does anyone have an idea what the best way to handle this situation would be?
Thanks for any input...
