Best way to add Breadcrumb Navigation in 5.7?

I'm about to launch the following site for a client and want to add Breadcrumb Navigation. I built it using a modified Elemental theme. What do I need to drop into the page templates for the Breadcrumb Nav? Or, is it better to add it as a site wide block?

It will probably be easier to add the breadcrumb nav to a sitewide global area.
Concrete5 community member and core contributor hissy made a great auto-nav custom template that creates a breadcrumb nav. It is a default auto-nav template in 5.7.4, but can be used in 5.7.3.1.
