Blank page after install

I have tried installing 4 different versions on 5.7 and the same thing happens every time. It ends with a blank page. I am using HostGator cloud hosting. They have a quick install for 5.6 that works but, I need 5.7! Anyone else experience this?

I have used Hostgator in the past and constantly had issues installing Concrete. I am now using Inmotion Hosing and have had no issues at all. Also, Concrete wasn't really intended to work on a cloud environment - it does pretty well on a VPS or shared hosting, though. Look here:

Thanks for your response. Performance has not been an issue at all with HostGator cloud services, just installing things has been problematic. Perhaps if I install it somewhere else and then move it over it might work?

Perhaps there's a session management tweak that could be made to a c5 config file somewhere. I recall reading about such a thing that can help when using cloudy hosting.

There must be some fix for this. Magento 2 has a similar issue and the installer fails 50% of the time on cloud hosting. However, OpenCart installs perfectly everytime. Perhaps some provisioning in the installer script for time outs and retries? That is the only thing I can think of.

I don't think it's a timeout issue. I recall that it's related to authentication (different IP or certificates coming from different servers, when the software is expecting only a single server).

Ahhhh that makes a lot of sense. I never thought about that.

I just came across this post 'Installation keeps failing' https://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/5-7-discussion/blank-page...

So I tired adding: die("reset function invoked"); to the install.php file. This prevents the installer files from being deleted. Since multiple servers are involved in a cloud I thought maybe things were getting deleted before completion.

I am still getting a blank page however, now when I refresh the page I get 'reset function invoked'. Anyone have a thought?

Previously when the install failed (and I got a blank page) I would receive the following if I refreshed the page. "There are already 202 tables in this database. concrete5 must be installed in an empty database.." Along with a trace.

There has to be a simple fix for this. I have seen many posts about this same installation problem and without resolution. Cloud hosting will only continue to grow in popularity. Assuming that is the cause of the issue, this really needs to get resolved. I just don't have enough php experience to figure this out.
