The topics in the right side bar are being set in the Topic List block.

If you edit the Topic List block, you will see a Topic Tree drop down of available topics.

Topics can be edited, added, or removed on the Attributes dashboard page.
Dashboard > Pages & Themes > Attributes

Edit/Remove
- clicking on an existing topic will allow you to delete the attribute or change the existing topic tree
Add
- at the bottom of the Attribute page there is an Add Attribute drop down, select "Topics", then "Go"

Thank you for your reply. Here is where I am after playing a while:

I got to the Attribute page in the Dashboard. Somehow I deleted all the Topics for the blog page and am trying to add them back. Here are 2 current screen shots.

"You must specify a valid topic tree parent node ID and topic tree ID." - How do I do this?

Also I see at the bottom of the page that the default Topic categories are set to come back. Can they be changed now or does the Topic set on this page have to be added first?

I believe what you are seeing is a bug that should be resolved in the next release.

Ok. Does that mean I can't create a blog page at this time with the topics and categories I need? When will the next release be issued?

I don't know when the next version will be released.

Until then, topics won't work as expected.

I might not understand your problem. But to add and edit topic lists you should go to /dashboard/system/attributes/topics/
