C5 5.7.2.1 - Form block times out on submission -
Permalink
I am developing a site offline on my MacBook Pro using Ampps, and C5 5.7.2.1.
I have two forms using the default form block. When I submit the forms, I get the captcha/human confirmation modal, but after I pass that test and click the continue button the browser hangs. It takes me to a time out error screen, with a button to return to the home page. I have set the form up to send a message to a designated staff email address for my client as well as to the customer who filled the form out. This is email message is not delivered, but when I check the admin panel I do see the data has been successfully saved when submitted, but the email is failing somewhere and perhaps causing the timeout? Has anyone seen this issue? I am wondering if it is an Ampps issue here locally on my machine, or an issue with the from block in C5 5.7?

Update to 5.7.3 and see if the problem persists.
Good morning,
Thank you for the quick reply.
I ran the update to 5.7.3, but still kept getting the error.
I began to suspect that the problem was related to sending email after the form is submitted. So I checked the email settings and sure enough it looks like this is where the time out is happening. When I began developing this site about two months ago, I originally had the email set to the default php email, but I never received any messages after submitting forms. After reading through thru forums I read somewhere that using your own mail servers can resolve this issue, so I entered my own online server's pop mail settings. But when I run the email test here I get the timeout. Do you think this may be due to the site running on Ampps locally as opposed to a live server somewhere?
I appreciate any advice offered.
Regards,
R
