Can't get the Topic tree working for a new page type

Hi,
So far I've copied everything from the elemental theme 'blog type' to a new 'quick wins' type. Created the attribute type and set, everything is working, except the topic list. The form just shows a empty list of topics.
On the left you can see the quick wins topic, where the 'categories' topic title is NOT green, and one category has to be selected--but on the right, the category title is green, with nothing selected. Did i miss something?
