Changes don't publish

Hi,
I started to use 5.7 on a new site and made several changes to the Elements template but those changes do not always consistently publish. E.g. the new changes show when I am logged in but as soon as I log out the old stuff appears again. Any ideas how to get the site to fully publish/apply the changes?
