Concrete 5.7.5.6 - Test emails arrive, contact form email do not. Why??

I just tested my contact form and find out the emails are not coming through. It surprises me because test emails do arrive with no issue or delay.
I even contacted my hosting provider support and they tried it themselves. No record of an email being sent is registered at all upon submitting the form data!
It seems that form submission does nothing. Is that possible?

Do you have contact form inserted as stack?
As a matter of fact, it *is* inside of a stack and used in a global area. I *do* get emails in email list in the Dashboard.
Since I remember reading some time ago about problematic email sending if the form is in a stack, I tested it on a new page - nothing except the form in the main area, with global areas in the footer (but no forms there).
