crashes, errors, non display in IE... why?

I have used the older version of concrete for some time and very happy with it although it lacks certain things that I was pleased to see in the newer version.
However, since I have installed v5.7 on 2 sites they have both produced serious errors, one has crashed and lost all data and I had to start again from scratch (because no backup available on this version)
Plus a site built using a purchased theme does not display correctly on Internet Explorer.. its OK on Firefox and Chrome but garbage on IE. So therefore unusable and a waste of 2 weeks of building.
Please tell me if the new concrete version bugs are going to be fixed or shall I scrap my purchased theme an revert to the old version of concrete?
Not impressed!!

Considering that many people are still using windows 7 and IE 8 surely there needs to be some legacy compatibility. We cant expect all users to have the latest OS. ver5.6 displayed fine on old IE versions, but 5.7 does not.
The regular error messages when saving blocks is not related to the browsers though.

When considering legacy IE7 and IE8 support, you need to separate viewing a site as a visitor from being actually logged in.
For legacy compatibility that far back you can use concrete5.6. It still won't be perfect, especially when logged in, but it will be better.
The 5.7 core utilises much vendor code that no longer supports IE7 and 8. So you would need to convince a whole host of open source projects to bring back IE7 support, not just concrete5.

Points taken..
I am sure nobody builds with Windows v4 or XP in mind so likelwise old IE browsers need to be trashed and users educated to use easily updated open source browsers instead.
I would rather utilise the better interface of C5.7.* than pander to users of old OS (like me) and thus old browsers. Such users can always use Firefox or Chrome, which display correctly.
Will just have to put a "best viewed on..." notice on the footers.
Now i just have to get to grips with the various error messages popping up when saving blocks or saving theme design changes. They never appeared when building using ver 5.6.* That was the root cause of my recent site loss, so more important than IE compatibility.

There is a BIG difference between recent versions like 10 and 11 and 'edge', compared to versions 9 and below.
