Does 5.7 work on a macbook?

My newest thought is that version 5.7 does not work on a macbook.
I have a macbook computer, not a windows computer. I have been with concrete5 for more than 4 years, and previously installed and edited several 5.6 websites using a windows computer.
Recently, I deleted my old 5.6 website and tried to install a brand new 5.7 website, especially so that I could use the opt-in features.
I have had ongoing problems and cannot begin to edit anything.
I cannot find the cause. It is not my web host. It is not my internet service provider.
I don't know how to use the new 5.7 version of concrete5. It is not working for me.

I have tested using OS X El Capitan and Safari 9 and I am able to login and edit a 5.7.5.6 site hosted on an Ubuntu 14.04 server with no issues. Same with Chrome 49
Hi. Thanks for your information. I am very glad and encouraged to discover that Concrete5 is not exclusively for windows computers.
What a relief!
However, I still cannot edit my website. The screen freezes, the editing tools disappear or don't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled so many times. Nothing worked. I have to go on with my life. At this time, I am searching for an alternative for Concrete5 that is suitable for my current situation.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

concrete5 is primarily developed on macs,
I have had no issues, I would bet its an issue with how concrete5 is configured on the server.

Does that mean the problem might be with my web host? I have a small shared hosting account.
My web host investigated the issue from their end and cannot find anything wrong.
My web host, HostDime, is a large, well-established, international company that also manages large enterprises. They probably have many other customers using concrete5.

Out of curiosity, on your mac what webserver setup are you running?
I'm pretty sure that MAMP works 'out of the box' in terms of settings to support 5.7.
With MAMP it's pretty easy to just point it at a folder to say 'my site is here'. You can also swap PHP versions quickly too.
Then we just used Sequel Pro to connect to MySQL to create empty databases.

Ignore my question here - I read your post again and realised you are hosting on a server, not locally.

I'm on a MacBook Pro (still running 10.9.5), and 5.7 has been working for me. Had a few issues, but they've mostly turned out to be due to me and not my computer. For instance, in all my years of working with pre-5.7 concrete, I had somehow managed to skip the very first part where they tell you to wrap everything with the "ccm-page" class to prevent your page formatting from conflicting with the c5 environment elements; somehow this had never actually caused a conflict before, but immediately did with 5.7 (side panels wouldn't slide out properly, drop-down menus weren't working.) Doh! Also my ad blocker was causing some issues, blocking some editing features from working.
If you could post more specific details/examples of the issues you're having, it might be possible to figure out what's going on.
