I too, need this functionality for 5.7. I found this other forum thread here:

From what it looks like, there will soon be improvements made to the Conversations feature so that a forum will be possible.

I have this in the works:http://forums.webli.us/forums I'm developing it for a couple client sites, I don't have an ETA yet on when it will be finished, right now I am just working on what the client needs are.

This looks great so far. I would need the add-on in 6-8 weeks, any chance it would be done by then?

I'm using Concrete 5.7.5.1 and not experiencing the "Invalid Block Object. Invalid Page" bug that you are having. Hope your luck improves!

I experienced this error as well, but then realized I had put the conversation block in a global area, which of course would not work. As soon as I moved it to a non-global area it worked great.
