How to stop C5.7 automatically creating Retina Thumbnails

Is there a way to stop C5.7 automatically generating Retina (double sized) thumbnails?

I have created custom thumbnails for 5 different sizes and C5.7 is generating 5 extra x2 thumbnails for each image that is uploaded. On a busy site these unwanted thumbnails are going to take up a huge amount of resources.

Thanks for your reply - I will +1 the feature request on GitHub.

In the meantime, I have decided to cut down on the amount of custom thumbnails and use some of the auto generated 2x ones instead. Not ideal, but it'll do.

My next challenge is to replace PICTURE tag with the IMG tag (using SRCSET and SIZES):

This is not possible, it's auto generator and it's been plaguing. After all please use custom images.

I can't use custom images - it's important that the end users only have to upload one version of the image. The thumbnails feature is working for me - I just don't want the extra 2x Retina versions. I could create these myself if I needed them.
