I have a site with many images already uploaded and captioned (using file description).
The site is updated regularly with more images.
Each image has to have its caption added manually which is quite clunky.

Can anyone suggest a way to tag the file beforehand so the description is auto imported with the file upload, or is there a way to get a list of files already uploaded to display their description in a list form (like a spreadsheet), rather than having to click each file individually from the file manager?

I have looked at trying to customise the file list to show an additional column with the descriptions, but I'm not that clever! (this would seem like an basic requirement to me anyhow?). Under 'customize results' there seems to be everything except 'description'.
