Improving the Conversations block
Permalink
Hi Guys,
Great work on the 5.7 re-development. It's looking great!
Just wondering if it would be worthwhile adding the ability to include a username and email when submitting a reply as an 'anonymous user'?
I have found that when we have included the guestbook/conversation block on previous sites for our clients that have always been keen to capture a persons email and also have them provide a username to personalise the discussion a little more.
Interested to hear if anyone else thinks this is a good idea.
Thanks for your help and keep up the good work.

Yes, that would be very helpful. We'd like the conversation block to work in both capacities and definitely if you're using it as a guestbook it should have the ability to provide a captcha and a name/email.
Excellent! Out of interest do you know what release you are hoping to implement those features?
We were planning on it being part of 5.7.3 – but that release might get fast-tracked with JUST the integration of multilingual features, since people really want those more than almost anything else.
I can't seem to find a captcha for the Conversations block, is there such a thing?
I can't find captcha either, it really needs it!
These features are a part of the develop branch in Github, which is going to likely be 5.7.4. There's currently no timetable for its release, but "very soon"™ is the unofficial goal.
The conversation block is really awesome and has some cool features!
But it would also be nice if the comments can be approved before they are public.
1. Email / username
2. Approve before message is public
3. Captcha
Those three things are often wanted :)

Today is your lucky day ;) these are actually included in 5.7.4, which is very close to release. Hopefully we'll be getting a release candidate of it out not this coming week but next.
Hey Andrew,
That's great news!!! :)
Cannot wait until its released.

Maybe a good idea to make approve as default and make it more "visible" in settings.
Took some time to find this (important) setting.

Hey Andrew
Very useful, but can i turn the validation off? Like in the previous version, I want my users to be able to just add a comment, and not go to a tedious process or leaving their email adresses. It will kill all traffic.
Currently i'm using 5.7.5.1, and i'm looking for an option besides rolling back to a previous vresion?
