Internal server error when trying to set custom blocks in add block section per user group

I keep getting an internal server error whenever I try to save after adding a user group to "add block" permissions. I can create the user group just fine. I don't know how to fix this at all. I presume I may have to chmod some files but not sure what. Any help anyone can give would be much appreciated. Here is what I see in the console:

. Thanks much in advance. Oh and advanced permissions are turned on. Currently running 5.7.5RC1
