Just wondering why there are almost no add-ons for 5.7

Just wondering why non of the old addons work for 5.7 and is there a way to downgrade? Almost all the good add ons are for 5.6 or lower and the 5.7 world is a desert.

Hello,
the market for 5.6 took years to build. The market for 5.7 is relatively new and will take some time to grow.

New add-ons are submitted for approval almost every day. The approval process can be lengthy to ensure the quality of the marketplace.

I wouldn't say it's a desert, though, with almost 250 add-ons .

Downgrading is not possible and add-ons for 5.6 won't work in 5.7 and vice-versa.

5.6 is still supported though and a new version came out a few months ago so using that version instead of 5.7 is still a totally viable solution.

Sorry?

There are over 150 add-ons and nearly 60 themes in the 5.7 mp?

Which add-ons are you missing?

Man times change. We were just reviewing our own add-ons over the years, and the amount of money we've made off of selling Superfish Dropdowns is positively embarrassing. Seriously, internal guestimates were off by a factor of 10x.

We even had a Flash Image Gallery in there..

These days the themes for version 7 should each handle their own drop downs gracefully, ideally with a responsive hamburger nav too. The idea that you might have a site theme that didn't include a menu and that you might by a menu to drop in there as an add-on just seems quaint...

So does a image gallery made out of Flash, which if it wasn't for Hulu would be 100% gone at this point...

Turns out, things that made sense to have in 2009 do not make sense in almost 2016... Yay for progress...

Was looking for an image gallery that had captions, I do a small, small, amount of web work in a small community so I use CC5 only a few times a year, and do love the simplicity of the program, just noticed a massive drop off as I went to build a new site from 5.6 to 5.7, just in themes and add-ons that were available.

5.6 had something called Deluxe Image Gallery that I was going to try, did not see anything like that for the 5.7.

I hope nobody thinks I am knocking anything, I think communities that build this software are awesome, and the only thing I can do is hope to encourage my customers to buy the add-on's needed to make their site what they want.

For anyone reading this post, there is a dedicated thread for people to reply with the add-ons they feel 5.7 needs.
