Marketplace "locked" in 8.1.0

Just upgraded to 8.1.0 and when I´m in the controlpanel trying to do a purchase from the marketplace it freezes in the "log in" phase and I can´t do anything from there. When I reloaded the page the shoppingcart says "empty" and it´s not possible to fill it with anything.
There is no problem to buy stuff from the original concrete5.org site, but you really want to be in the site when you do it.
Can this be a problem specific to 8.1.0?

I too cannot seem to purchase any add-ons through the 8.1.0 Dashboard. When clicking purchase the shopping cart is empty and seems to timeout.
Is the site using SSL? Are you using Firefox? Have you tried with a different browser?
I'd definitely try with the Developer Console open and see if you are getting a XHR error...

I´m using Safari Mac, I´ve also tried Opera, Chrome and Firefox and it´s the same problem on all browsers. No SSL. Everything worked fine before upgrading so I figured the problem was 8.1.0.
I tried different browsers plus 2 different installations of 8.1 and got the same result. The only thing in my case is that they are local MAMP projects.
