[Resolved] Next-previous navigation does not work in Global Areas

For me, next-previous navigation does not work in Global Areas. It always shows the same pages. Before i report this as bug - can anybody confirm that?
(Background: i want to have the next-previous navigation for all pages of a certain page template).
UPDATE 1:
Problem solved. Next-Previous navigation does work in Global Areas. The problem apparently has been caused by some inconsistency of the page templates of my custom theme, after a few corrections, the issue with the Next-Previous navigation was gone.

Now i found out what actually caused the problem:

I'm actually seeing it working. I tried to add next/previous to one of the global areas and it seems to let me page through just fine. I didn't change any of the default options, and I'm using the latest github. (and the blog as it ships, with a few more items in it.)
Hah, whoops. That'll teach to me to fire off a response before I read the updates.
