On - email validation

Permalink
I have tried three times each with a new installation of 5.7.2 and I cant get the On - email validation to work in the public registration.

When registering i complete the details and the page just refreshes without error or notification. The registration does complete however as I can see it in members directory but no email is sent.

I tested the email function and that works ok and find no error in the logs. Not sure if i have missed a setting somewhere,

Does everyone else get different results ?

I'm just looking into this. I get the same result as you unless I set 'use emails for login'. If I do this the email gets sent to the correct address.

however, activation doesn't work as when I click on the link and get taken to the site I received the error message

'Invalid Authentication Type Handle'.

It looks as though the process has bugs in it. I'm going to try if there is some arcane way of using the settings to get it to work properly but it looks as though it'll be getting logged as a bug unless anyone else can weigh in with a solution.

How do we raise this as a possible bug ?

see at the top menu - Community -> Bug Tracker.

If you go there and raise a bug it will ask you for a description and then to paste your environment information from inside the dashboard:

Dashboard -> System & Settings -> Environment

That will add the bug to the tracker. If you want to open one up I'll go in after and confirm that I have the same thing happen.

doesn't seem to be allowing me to raise one, I fill in form and then it just sits there with the revolving symbol. Tried this 3 times so far ... not sure if you are able to.

same here. I cannot submit a bug report.

There appears to be some kind of (ajax linked?) issue with form handling on this website at the moment.
