Problems with thousands of session cookies please help
Permalink
Not sure if I'm posting in the right place here!
I'm a longtime occasional user of concrete5 with not a huge amount of technical knowledge about anything other than the front end.
I have had problems forever with session cookies clogging up disk space on sites, I've seen various complex solutions proposed in the forums but tbh I don't really understand half of them. If they're in tmp folders I tend to just empty/delete the folders.
At the moment I have an old site running 5.7.5.6 which I'm trying to upgrade to 5.7.5.13
Cpanel tells me I'm out of disk space because of zillions of session files in the directory .cagefs/var/cpanel/php/sessions/ea-php70
The directory is too full to be manually emptied.
Can I delete this entire directory and make a new ea-php70 directory, or will this break something important? And is there some simple way of stopping it happening again?
Thanks very much in advance

Thanks.
The application/files/tmp folder on this site is small, hardly any files (I look after one really old site on 5.6.3.5 where the files/tmp folder is always filling up to stupid sizes, but I know I can delete them periodically!)
It's the cpanel ea-php70 folder which seems to be the problem here, we're talking 10000 files
Are you suggesting it's more of a cpanel problem not a Concrete5 problem?
but most importantly do you think I can just delete & then reinstate that folder?

I don't think you can just delete that folder.
You should ask your server tech guys to look at the problem for you as it looks like a cPanel problem.
