Site Structure > "Special Sections"

I have a client with a dance studio. However, she also does seminars and choreographs dance pieces. This all fits nicely in a 7-8 page site.
However, she also rents the dance studio to other dance and yoga teachers, plus every two years produces a multimedia/dance event, with tickets, pictures, etc.

At first I thought I would make three different sites, but that is three different installs. I am doing this "probono" so every additional cost/complication costs me.

What I thought was that I could change the "sitewide header logo area" to be a normal area, then I could place the appropriate logo in the header for each of the different "sites". The only real problem would be the nav, if I need a few pages for the studio and the event.

I am trying to avoid subdomains (although this would be the most logical way to go) I have no experience in this and there are no plugins available for 5.7 yet.

Does anybody have any ideas how I could manage this small but complex problem?

Thanks for any ideas.

If you look back for posts on global areas and languages, you could apply a similar trick to have different global areas for different branches of the site.
