Trying to connect to Community

I have Concrete5 for my web site thanks to my hosting company, DreamHost.COM, who have it available as a 1-Click Install, but I am unable to connect the website to the community. I'm trying to install new block types, but when I do try, I'm taken to a page which tells me that my site is not connected to the community. I try to log in and that brings up a block which is too large for its allocated space (requiring a scroll operation to see the entire thing) which has a is another login page.
I'm running Core Version - 5.7.5.8, Version Installed - 5.7.5.8
What are my options on getting to a point where I'm able to connect my site to the community so I may install new block types?
