Upgrade via Command Line

I'm trying to find a way in 5.7 to run the upgrade scripts from the command line. I know I could duplicate the functionality from the upgrade controller in a CLI script but I was curious to see if there was an out of the box solution available or if there would be any reason I couldn't do as I described above. Thanks!
