using "bitnami-concrete5-5.7.3.1-0-osx-x86_64" – adding blocks not possible

I installed "bitnami-concrete5-5.7.3.1-0-osx-x86_64" to develop sites locally.
If trying to add a block into the layout the system idles, the blue-loading blob appears instead of the plus sign. If i click again on it the lock shows. > see screenshot.
/// never seen before !
the layout won't accept any block anymore and the system hangs up.
What goes wrong?
