Why do i need to accounce which C5 version i'm using?

There really should a way such kind of variables are listed and can be overridden. One should not get into the database and look for such variables, config directory should include a variables file listing and explaining use of such variables.

concrete.misc.app_version_display_in_header

This is just a security issue!

Are you asking if there's a way to hide the "generator meta tag"?
