Why doesn't my C5 look like what I see in youtube videos?

Is it my version? More and more I am convinced that Concrete5 is my development platform of choice. I am picking up where a developer left off on my site but when I go looking for information to edit, add, omit and build, the youtube videos show a much different editing page. I feel like I really need to know why. Thanks to anyone who replies and points me in a positive direction.
I expect you are looking at videos made on older version's of C5.

I think you are right. However, when I click for "newer version" from the window that appears when I enter "edit" mode, I get the remark "There are no upgrades". I didn't start this development and in fact did not know about Concrete5 until the project was dumped back into my lap. The upside is that C5 seems really easy on most levels.
