Alt text for slideshow images

I am getting requests from my visitors for identifications for the images displayed on it. For static images one can get the "alt" text with a mouseover, but not for slideshow images. It is too much trouble to modify the images to add text in the images. It should be possible to provide for entering a title for each image in a set and have those titles appear with a mouseover.

Since I haven't gotten any replies I guess I am going to have to reply to myself to stir the pot.

Right now the only way for a viewer to get anything like a title for an image in a slideshow or file set is give the original file a meaningful name and either let the viewer mouse over the image and view the file name in the browser URL field, or else right-click and select Properties to see the file name, which shows the same pathname in both the Location and Alt fields. Yet File Manager lets one give the image a Title, a lengthy Description, and Tags, none of which are visible to a visitor who is not a user with appropriate privileges. What I am seeking is to be able to get the Title to be the Alt text and have it display with a mouseover. Then a right click should be able to get the visitor the Description as well, for more information, perhaps about things like place, date, time, photographer/painter, occasion, etc.

Hi Jon, this is probably the closest thing in the marketplace:http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/slider-overlay/...

You can add a text overlay to each image in a slideshow.

Hope this helps.

Looks good and I'll probably adopt it, but it seems to be a little intrusive. I would like a option of just a one-line title that I can position anywhere along the edge, with a c choice of font and color.

I made a modification to the concrete5 slideshow to include a text overlay. Unfortunately it has the width hardcoded for my site, but that should be fairly easy to change in the CSS file
