auto orientate images

I'm looking for a way to auto orientate images based on their exif data when uploaded to a gallery. Currently I am using the frontend uploader from johnthefish to let users post pictures to a specific filesets however when images are taken with a mobile phone most people tend to take the picture landscape instead of portrait which then makes the images appear sideways. I am no programmer by any means but if anyone has a solution to automatically do this instead of having to go into the file manager and edit the images manually that would be awesome.

I think this was discussed somewhere in this show:http://www.concrete5.org/about/blog/totally-random-web-show/catch-a...

The forum thread with discussion on this is in the Leaders forum, so you won't have access.

It started with an enquiry about whether my Front End File Uploader addon could do it:

With the 2.0 update I inserted hooks for anyone wanting to experiment, but did not develop code for auto image rotation.

discussed yes. Solved i'm not so sure. I'll have to see if I can find the original post from john and see what if any suggestions were concluded. Thanks for the reply back.

Ha! John replied back in the time it took me to type this out. I'm no programmer by any means so developing anything is out of the question for me.
