what I am trying to achieve is this slideshowhttp://www.bwinteriors.com/ however it's in flash so I figured your billboard block is the closest to it so clients can edit it. Obviously the captions are the main thing

well, billboards doesn't do those sliding animations at the moment (perhaps coming in a later version?). If you're just wanting to overlay some text over that image i don't think it would be too hard to hack it if you've got some php and css skills. it already loops through each file to print the image, so you'd just need to output the description there too and style it.

I would really really love a block that allowed you to grab an image and text and display it similar to this (with the right custom template of course):

Might be nice to have them as custom templates in the default packages so we can choose from them. But yes, I will try to make a custom template for this.

you can add text to the billboards? Thought it was just images. Or do you mean if you "hack" it? I am not sure how to do that.
