eCommerce Alternative: Kona Kart for Concrete
Permalink
As much as I like Concrete's ecommerce package, I still find that it lacks a lot of the features of a more dynamic ecommerce solution.
I found Kona Kart, which offers a powerful, consolidated e-store solution. The community edition offers everything needed for ecommerce, including tracking, digital downloads, multi-stores, shipping options, you name it! The best part is... it is designed to work with any CMS!
What I'm interested in, is seeing the free community edition of Kona Kart integrated with Concrete.
It has already been used with dotCMS.

I agree - Concrete ecommerce is still a baby. But, I really can't wait around for it to mature. I'm a freelance web designer / developer, so I need solutions that are ready-to-go and meet the expectations of my clients and prospects.
Don't get me wrong - I LOVE concrete, and what they have in mind for later on. In fact, my clients love concrete because of its user-friendly interface!
I just thought it might be cool to have a more mature ecommerce option available in the marketplace.

Use 'ecwid'
The options are there, whether you use the free or the paid version.
Plug in code, Paypal, many gateways and you can style it to match your site.
Ajax, SEO and pretty much anything you need!
Simples...

i just want a way to display the alternate photos under the main photo on the product details page. like Amazon or Zappos.
anyone have a tweak for that?

Just add a picture gallery or slider to the the product page template.
KonaCart is also built in Java, not php
C5 eCommerce plug in might need a bit of tweak, but it's still only a baby?
Let it mature, grow and who knows it might be BETTER than the others.
I think I mentioned Ecwid once and wish I hadn't!
C5 eCommerce needs work, but it should be easier to control, being part of the same body.
I have tweaked parts of the php and styling to meet my needs, which isn't to hard.
I'm not paying over £1000 a year for a cart!
I could use Paypal with C5 plugins, Ecwid (as I said) or Prestashop (which is free and works).
Maybe your an employee?
