Events Calendar
Permalink
Hi,
I am reposting this here as suggested to hopefully get a better response.
I am hoping that someone can please advise on this. Am looking for an add-on events calendar that offer month, weekly, day, stream / agenda (with pictures), posterboard view (with pictures). And that the public can submit events to calendar (for approval).
I have come across other online calendars that do offer some / all of the above but I wanted to check in here first. Examples -http://tockify.com/ -http://www.gatherboard.com -http://time.ly
I did check some of the calendar add-ons here but I wasnʻt sure - or not available to use with current C5 version. I'd also like to try a demo site for the add-on. Hopefully someone is working on such an add-on.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Thank you. I do hope that someone is working on such an add-on as it would be most helpful -perhaps as part of the C5 core - I say that with no knowledge of how it works, but it be very helpful.
I wonder if some of the online calendars can be modified for C5? If no add-on is made it will be the way I go, but hopeful someone is making one. Is there a chance that someone from the C5 team can connect with the main developer who left - maybe he could upgrade his event add-on.
Iʻm thinking that maybe I should downgrade to 5.6 so I can access "more choice" but perhaps this is not a good idea as I donʻt have the coding skills.
cheers!

I think recently there was a suggestion in a video that a calendar/event add-on might be part of the 5.7 core add-ons but what features it will have and when it will materialize I do not know.
What you are looking for is similar to what ProEvents and ProForms could do in 5.6 but I cannot personally recommend these as support is almost non-existent.

Oh do you have link to that video? Hope this is going to happen. I did come across another video by @Mesuva which looks a good fit. I did touch base with Mesuva.
Yes I did read the reviews about this and I did send a msg to ProEvents developer @RadiantWeb but have not heard back - am hoping to test out ProvEvents but no live demo. Kinda need to see it is suitable.
If anyone has any contacts with @RadiantWeb please let me know.
Or if anyone has an add-on that is avail for current C5 - Iʻd love to hear from you.
cheers

@PortlandLabs currently has an event calendar add on in Peer Review. It does not currently support everything you want but if you can wait a week it will most likely be in the marketplace.
Thank you this is good to hear. I did msg @PortlandLabs and did get get a reply so yes this is good to know and look forward to testing out their calendar. cheers!
Hi - do you know if this add-on is in the 5.7 marketplace? I don't seem to be able to find it. Thanks.

Yes, a calendar add-on from the core team is in the add-on store. Search for calendar :-)

Thanks for the prompt response - I will check it out. Do you know if the calendar is mobile-friendly? Have you used it before, and it there a website I could take a look at to see the calendar in action?
I would like to re-open this add-on request. It is still a major missing add-on/package option for Concrete5 v8. There are a few calendars but not an Event package that has the option to generate a page and has a thumbnail page-list view very like the old and unsupported EventsPro add-on.
I know developers have asked in the past what add-ons would Concrete5 users like to see. E-Commerce was one which is being actively developed but Events is another must have.

+10 for this request. I agree there is still no satisfying solution for events. I could use it on several sites!
I might consider doing a "Pro" version of my "EZ Events" addon, which would do what you're looking for.
If anyone is interested, I could be hired to expedite development.

Hi, I did load in your EZ Events and thought it was a great add-on with some nice features!
I reflect the sentiment above, not having an events addon like ProEvents is giving me a headache.
ProEvents allowed multiple users to post to their site specific calendars.

Tockify looks interesting and it would be great if there was an add-on like it.
5.6 did have more choice but one of the main developers of one of the biggest event add-ons has migrated away from C5.
Unless any other developers out there has something they can add to the market place??
