EZ Ajax - New Block Coming Soon

While working on one of my own projects, I have come across the need for ajax-loaded content. I've noticed that there are no addons available for 5.7 and newer that deal with simple loading of ajax content.
So, I have begun work on a new simple-to-use addon that will allow loading of content via AJAX.
It will be very simple:
1. Select a page from within the site (Concrete install) or from external URL
2. Specify an area to load via unique ID
Options would include:
- Optionally load content via tabbed interface OR manually (by linking via some other means)
- Preloader animation (spinners)
- Load stacks via ajax
Do you have ideas or suggestions?

I think there are proposals for ajax loading blocks in the core. May be worth having a look at GitHub before putting too much effort in to this.
I've looked, but haven't found anything in regards to ajax blocks on github. I'll be developing this for 5.7.x and up.
