File Cart to Zip Download Add-on

I am considering developing a new add-on for the marketplace, but first I want to see how much interest there is in such an add-on.

My concept for the addon is this:

- Any type of file (images, documents, media) can be selected
- Users select which files they want to download
- When a file is selected, it is added to a ajax shopping cart
- When finished making their selections, they can download their list of files as a ZIP file

This would NOT be an ecommerce add-on. I have seen this functionality on other sites before, and there is currently no add-on for Concrete that does this.

What do you think?

How much interest is there in this?

I'd be very interested in that add-on.
I want to have themes and other things available for download on my site and the e-commerce add-on just doesn't suit my needs.

However, I would not be able to buy it (which means I'd love for it to be free). Still I believe many users will find it useful considering how many of us offer downloads. Might be able to buy later on.

Thank you for offering to create this.:-)

Yup, I would be interested in such an add-on, I currently use the Document library to offer a free download on my site, but this sounds like it would suit better.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

I just want to clarify a few more things about this.

This addon would NOT include a checkout feature of any kind. It would basically be a way to offer a simple way for users to mass-download a lot of files all at once.

It could be useful for things like creating custom download packages.

If you wanted to charge for such downloads, maybe the best way to do it would be to have a paid membership site so that only paid members would gain access to the page that has this addon.

I would have to charge for this add-on, but I don't think it would be more than $40 or so. This way I could provide the necessary level of support.

Any else interested?

Development has now begun on this addon! I am also working on a few others, so I hope to complete it by the end of the month.
