Multiple thumbnails (one for each image file set) in a single block

Like the title suggests i'm searching for a block that will add a thumbnail with a small description for every image file set i have and after that displaying every image in that file set in a lightbox gallery or at least have the possibility to link every thumbnail to a page that will contain its respective image file set.

Imagine the "Fancy Image Links" add-on. Ok? Is there a similar add-on that will allow me to add multiple sets in a block? with a small description around the thumbnail somewhere?

Thanks for the suggestion but that add-on only lists the images in a set.
What i want is something like this.
I have 50 images of horses which i organize in a set named Horses
I have 50 images of frogs which i organize in a set named Frogs
I have another 50 images of houses which i organize in a set named Houses.
I want to add in a single block a thumbnail for each set. And when a person clicks a thumbnail, a lightbox gallery should open with all the images from that set. So if i click on the image with a horse, the whole Horses set should open.
Also it would be great if it could grab the first image from the set and set it automatically as a thumbnail for that set.

I actually did exactly that for a client.

It's based on fancybox and it's responsive. It would need some modifications though to adapt to a different site.
