New Installations/Global Stacks

Hi Everybody,

I have just downloaded two new Concrete5 sites today,- Oxfordcontracts.co.uk and Oxfordseating.eu.

I am already well under way with Concrete 5 and Oxfordseating.co.uk. and think it's amazing.

However, with the new sites I couldn't upload the logos as site names. I placed them under the new Global stacks (I was familiar with the previous Scrapbook system) but they wouldn't upload. I have now lost one of the Global Site Name stacks by deleting the stack instead of the block.

I can't do code but it shouldn't have been a problem. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

David

Looks like you have already solved this for one of the sites.

I think that a global area defined in a theme will be auto created if it does not exist. So it should reappear next time you return to website and then come back to editing. Then just add a content block or image block to the global area and make sure it is published when saved.

Hi John,

Thanks for this response.

The site for which I had solved the problem was done under the Scrapbook system before I upgraded to the latest Concrete5 version.

With the new two sites, they both showed the logo under the Global Site name stack but wouldn't upload, even after clearing the cache.

I then lost the Global Site Name stack by deleting it accidentally whilst trying to sort out the upload problem. I tried a refresh as you suggested but it still wouldn't work. I am a bit lost with this. I have been on as many forums as possible but can't seem to find an answer.

Any help is appreciated.

Many thanks,

David

You could check that the file types you are uploading are enabled for uploading. dashboard/system/permissions/file_types/

I seem to remember a bug report where after upgrading some file types were lost from the list of uploadable file types for the file manager.

Hi John,

Tried everything - I cannot seem to load to either of my new sites the Site Name as an image or re-align horizontally the Autonav Home, Blog etc.http://www.oxfordseating.eu orhttp://www.oxfordcontrcats.co.uk

Absolutely despairing as this did not happen with my original site.

I checked permissions - it's not that.

Any ideas - anybody?

Sorted thanks to Mike at blondmedia.co.uk - The Plain Yogurt theme which I used for my original theme does not work with the latest 5.5 for Site Name upload or Autonav alignment.

So I have used the Greek Yogurt theme.

Interestingly, the Greek Yogurt theme is not listed with my original site even though I have upgraded the site.

many thanks to all.
