New package: Testimonials
Permalink
Testimonials is a full featured concrete5 package that will be available soon on the marketplace.
It includes an integrated backend, a single_page to list all your testimonials and a block to load a random testimonial, suitable for footers or sidebars of websites.

thought that was interesting putting the documentation in one of those dashboard sub-section tabs. hadn't seen that before, but it seems as logical a place as any.
Thanks Tony, I actually just added that today. I figured that regular users may not even know the README exists and felt this was much more user friendly.
Maybe in the future we can actually pass a class to the sub-tabs and have a dedicated color for a documentation tab, maybe floated to the right or something.

I've built a package which allows me to publish a few files including a description in the dashboard.
Easiest way to manage user documentation..

That is also a really good idea. Nice work.
The Testimonials package is available on my website until it gets on the marketplace for $5 USD.
The package has recently been updated to conform to the upcoming 5.3.2 release standards.

I really like the idea. I would like it even more if it had a way for front end users to submit testimonials and allow administrator to publish or delete them in the back end.
I would buy this in a hear beat if it had that. For $5 I might just buy it anyways but with those two extra features it would be a done deal.

If more people request this I would be happy to add it to an upcoming version, the price will be raised at some point anyway once there are more features added.
As far as I know with the marketplace all upgrades are included and I'm just fine with that.
Cheers

I just picked up your add-on and tried to install it, but clicking "Download" tells me -
beta/packages/defunct_testimonials already exists. Perhaps this item has already been installed.
- where beta is the Concrete5 root folder. I've tried deleting the supposed offending folder, but with the same result every time.
Should the "Download" link change to an "Install" link on Dashboard >Add Functionality after I've downloaded the add-on?

There is an uninstall feature in 5.3.2 under Add functionality and you should use that to remove it.
If you just delete the folder you have to go into the database and remove the record yourself.
Delete the Defunct Testimonials or Testimonials row from your Packages table and then concrete5 should let you install it again.
Yes the download link should change to install after you clicked download should you have clicked save for later in the marketplace and refreshed the add functionality page with marketplace integration enabled.
Thanks

This ended up being a corrupt zip file. Concrete5 has replaced it on their site and it should be functioning properly. Remove the defunct_testimonials folder from the ROOT/packages/ folder and install it again from the marketplace.
