OpenCart + Concrete5 = Goodness

Hey guys,

Just requesting that opencart,http://www.opencart0.com be inplemented to work together with Concrete5. It is a small lightweight system, and would be perfect to be implemeneted with C5 unlike Magento that I have heard people are starting to integrate.

My request is that we work out a plugin for this, I would be happy to put money into this as well!!! :)

Any thoughts?

I second this motion! I know that C5 has an ecommerce solution, but if someone could build an opencart integration, it would truly be the best of CMS and e-commerce in one. I purchase about 10 licenses per year of ecommerce, and would gladly purchase 10 licenses per year of an opencart integration module.

You can't be serious?

C5 commerce does more, without the headache?

What? seriously what headache, I have ecwid running on concrete5 local host just for testing purposes and in worked by simply adding one block of code. Ecwid also provide invoicing, order number facility and more.

To be honest I was a little sceptical too but took a good look at ecwid and was extremely surprised at the ease at which it could be implemented.

For a small to medium enterprise that to wishes to sell products online this is a serious contender and something that should not be ignored, sign up and try on your local host for a good idea of what's available.

I wasn't referring to Ecwid, I referring to Opencart.

why would we need an add-on for Ecwid?

You only have paste a bit code and style it, they do all the hard work?

my apologies, no offence in tended must have read the post incorrectly.

I must admit I will be using ecwid in the future. At present I'm designing a prams retailer web site and that's what I'll be using.

No offence taken.

I like Ecwid, but I like the core commerce add-on for it's natural integration with C5. I have product management, order handling, customer tracking, and everything under one roof.

I don't have time to jump from one app to another, checking that the SKU, the item no. or the right Paypal, Google Api key is with the right product.

It just needs a bit of modification is all.

Thats great, I have considered using the ecomm block but as I'm just starting to go freelance as a developer I was trying to watch how much I spend and $105.00 (think that's how much it cost) is a little outside my budget.

On larger projects I will more than likely use it

If you prefer one solution, then use that solution yourself, but please don't blithely dismiss a valid inquiry with "you can't be serious" and a blanket statement that "C5 commerce does more, without the headache?". Do you want to give a detailed comparison, feature for feature, pros and cons of each? If so, great, but if not, well your comment as it is doesn't serve anyone.

I found this thread because I'm looking for the same exact solution, a way to use OpenCart integrated with Concrete5. Frankly, I haven't installed C5 Commerce (or spent the money on it), so I can't say from experience, but from what I've seen, the exact opposite is the impression I got and currently have. There are some incredible and inexpensive OpenCart Themes as wellhttp://themeforest.net/category/ecommerce/opencart...

So I'm currently planning on working backwards, and will probably want to make a C5 Theme match the OpenCart Theme.

Any help or suggestions from anyone are appreciated.
