Responsive Image Slider
Permalink
I am looking to create a responsive image slider. It would be similar to any other slider in the marketplace, but the main difference is that it would be able to auto-fit on any device or screen size.
I have already purchased a script for this at CodeCanyon, and tried starting development on it myself. ALAS! I am no developer... so I am looking for someone to do this.
Take a look at the following link for a working demo and what it features:
http://codecanyon.net/item/unoslider-responsive-touch-enabled-slide...
Of course, I will provide you with the source code. In return, I would like a license issued to me, and I will be sure to leave a review for it. This is something I'm sure a good number of people would want to purchase.
I'm looking to get this done as soon as possible. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY.

Yes, I've seen the Responsive Gallery. However, it isn't really a slideshow add-on, which is what I'm looking for. FlexSlider looks pretty good too. It would be great if someone could develop an add-on like this.
Is anyone currently working on a flexslider addon? Otherwise I might get started with that.

That would be cool.
I've used http://slidesjs.com/ on a concrete5 site before, but that isn't responsive and as full featured as flexslider. (and I didn't turn it into a proper block)
I love how there are so many good jQuery plugins out on the interwebs now and how the developers make their configuration really easy to control with simple arrays. Concrete5 really lends itself to wrapping up these scripts as blocks in my opinion.

theres one in the review board.
Try this. You'll have to configure the slider options yourself in the package block's view.php file (at the very bottom of that file), or use this as a jumping off point to add the flexSlider-specific options to the add/edit dialog.
Also, I could only get it to display properly by setting an explicit width and height on the container element, which I think made the thing not very responsive (it doesn't change sizes as I change the browser window). Not sure if that's just a CSS problem though...

And I've written a blog post explaining how to do it, in case someone is interested in learning themselves:

Hi Jordan,
As usual, fantastic work and much appreciated. I have one tiny problem - the 'chrome' isn't showing. Inspecting with Firebug shows the url for the background images as I would expect e.g. (../images/bg_control_nav.png) but it's failing to load the image.
I can access and see the chrome images directly by inputting the url in the browser e.g.http://sitename.org/packages/flex_slider/blocks/flex_slider/images/... but for some reason they aren't loading when accessed through C5.
Any ideas why that may be? Even tried removing my version and installing yours instead (assuming it was an error between keyboard and chair on my behalf) but the same thing happens..?

Not sure... one thing I do notice is that your path says "flex_slider/images/", but actually in the download I have they're in "flex_slider/css/theme/". I may have gotten mixed up somewhere in the instructions...
If you have this on a publicly-viewable site and can provide a link, that might give me more insight into the issue.

Hi Jordan, sent you PM with the link. You can substitute the domain into the direct URL to the image given above to see the images are actually there. I think the path you mention is the original flex slider path, not the path in relation to the CSS in the block but you are the oracle on this - I'm stumped!
I responded to your email. Please post back and let me know if the suggestion was helpful so others who run across this issue in the future can see. (And if not, let me know so we can try something else). Thanks.
Hi Jordan, I got your message regarding the sortable gallery plugin (in response to the support post I made) but I also sent you a PM regarding the fantastic boilerplate code post you had made.
It was regarding the 'chrome' not showing on the Flex Slider athttp://www.bridestone.co.uk (under construction!). I'm sure it's a path issue but it has me a little stumped.

Sure. Did you get my email response about the flex slider chrome, or should I re-send that to you?
Hi Jordan, nope - didn't get anything on email/PM. Please re-send, thanks.
I just re-sent the PM. If you don't see it in the next hour or so, send me an email directly at concrete@jordanlev.com
Thank you Jordan. This was very helpful.
Hi Brad, there are a couple sliders like that in the Marketplace, but not exactly the same.
I've recently finished a new slider that's pretty cool and is awaiting PRB approval for the Marketplace (http://c5extras.com/add-ons/parallax/) in case it fits your requirements.
But if you've got your heart set on that Unoslider, I can help. Just PM me a list of fields you want to be able to edit/control for the editor interface and I can provide you with a price and timeframe. My rates are very competitive and turnaround times are very fast.

I appreciate your offer. However, I think I've decided I'm going to try to develop this on my own. I need to get a feel for how to create addons for concrete. Besides, I have several other add-ons I want to create too.
I hope to complete and release the responsive slider very soon.

Wow, it was realy coool slider growth!, although the image so big, but it load so fast, not bottleneck, so it was flex?

Also, FlexSlider is awesome (not an add on yet, but I'm crossing my fingers):
