Search block "remembering" prior search

Our search block has stopped functioning. It is used in a handful of our pages, but no matter what word we search for it returns "no results" and the "search results" are listed for "constinctuents". I have rebuilt the search index and cleared the cache. At that point I have not idea where to look next (I am not the developer). Anyone got any thoughts?
Well, finally tracked this down. I had changed the caching on the website in general, and this had hit the search page. Essentially the served search results were a cached prior search. turning off caching on this page fixed the problem. Obvious in hindsight, and probably obvious to most of you out there.
