Search Block - How it works?

Could you tell me, how search block works?
I add this block on site and play Index Search Engine.
I have 10 subpages, but Index Search Engine show me 16, why?
When I put some words in search input, I see the bottom of search engines: There were no results found. Please try another keyword or phrase.
In content block I have the same words to search. Why it doesn't works?
The second problem is with redirect to another page. When I click search button I go to the page with search results, but I don't know how to see this results? The following search engine is the same information.
How display results in content, instead bottom of search?

i tried test search on the default built, 'examples' return 1 result (where it should be more), and 'example' return 0 (which is worse)
