Store/Location Finder

I'm in need of a location finder, basically a tool where you enter in a zip code and it displays the closest stores based on distance. I'm considering doing it with a Google map, but I'm just curious if anyone else has had success with something like this, or if there are any better suggestions. Thanks all.
This has already been completed, but I would be interested in a more robust version for future projects - namely some google map integration. I think creating it as an add-on in the marketplace would be a very good idea, seemed to be a fair amount of interest in it!
Matt has a block he submitted that we are now reviewing that has this functionality
