ZOOMpan Gallery Sneaky Peeky
Permalink
I am working on a cool new image gallery for the marketplace! It will have a zoom and pan interface, so it will be ideal for showcasing high-quality images, or even details of ecommerce products!
Built-in features include:
- Slideshow (with auto-start)
- Lightbox view (default)
- Responsive custom template
- Many other customization options
Want to see a "preview" of it? Below is a link to an early "alpha" version of it, and watch it "evolve" (I will be working on it over the next couple days):

I plan to submit this to the marketplace PRB over the weekend, so NOW is the time for any feedback or ideas!

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like you caught me when I was trying different settings. Try it out again, this time you should see more zoom options. Also, all images should fit now.
This addon will feature many different interface settings, so the way the user will be able to use it will depend on those settings.
Example settings include (but are not limited to):
- Turn off or on various interface controls
- Zoom level defaults
- Interface design options
- Lots of other settings

It looks just fine now.
In my opinion however, the zoom still needs work so it doesn't show an oversized pixelated picture.

The zoom effect has nothing to do with how pixelated the picture is. That depends on the picture itself. For example, if you have a 300 x 300 image and try to zoom in on it, of course it will look pixelated.
However, if you have a much larger image, such as a 1200 x 1200, the quality when zoomed in on will be much better. Also, the image DPI has a lot to do with it as well.
Anyway, I will explain this more in the documentation.

Sorry my comment was not very clear. I understand how pictures work, what I meant was:
1- If I use a big picture (1200x1200) so there is comfortable zooming margin, at what size will the slideshow show it to me by default (when just opened)? At the moment it seems the slideshow shows me the full image when it opens so zooming will always make it look pixelated. If on the contrary the slideshow shows me a reduced image (with a setting allowing to specify display size) then zooming to its full size makes sense.
2- There should be a check to make sure zooming can never make the picture bigger then its natural size as to avoid the pixelated look.
Remember, many users are not that technical and all they will see is that their pictures can look bad with your add-on; that's why this should be addressed I think. Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Hi there,
please tell me when will be released?
Looks awesome! Plus, it has zoom in & out and pan function. Definitely ultimate for who wants that kind of features. If you could sell me a beta, please contact me asap.
regards
frank

Unfortunately, this has temporarily been postponed. I've been busy with other new marketplace items and projects.
I can send you a BETA version, but there may be some issues. If you private message me your email, I can send you a PayPal invoice and then I'll send it to your email. Cost: $15.
Then, once it gets approved, I will issue you a license.

I know this is a work in progress but it has a few problems:
1- pictures come out of their frame to the right with some awkward empty space on the left (on Chrome anyway)
2- is the zooming function actually a good one? I mean a good zooming function would take a larger photo to zoom and give us a good quality zoom. Here the small picture is simply blown up so the effect is not really good. Any way to fix that?
3- At first the slideshow was on automatic and I just assumed if I hover it will pause but it didn't and it was sliding quite fast. Took me a few seconds to get it and see the pause button
Hope this few pointers help.
Good luck
