5.5.1 Quick-Nav Bug

I like the new Interface Preferences, however if I set the Quick-Nav behavior to always display, it overlaps the top of my page.

You just got the main toolbar overlap fixed, here's another one for ya!

P.S. Great job on the new version guys!

Oh, and I just discovered another bug, but a REAL bug this time!

If I have define('WHITE_LABEL_DASHBOARD_BACKGROUND_SRC', 'false'); set in my config/site.php, the option to disable the background disapperars from the Interface Preferences.

That probably makes sense. However, when I try to change the default Quick-Nav behavior, it always goes back to default when I save settings. It doesn't do this if i don't have the whitelabel config setting on.

The second is a known issue and is fixed in git.

So, would you not consider the quick-nav overlap a bug? It's not a big deal with default behavior, but the always show option might be an issue for sites with important content on the top of the page.

For me, it's not an issue with usability, I just like to see the whole page from a design point of view.

well it was always intended as a slide down menu, so the logic/work that went into re-positioning the toolbar and the page header with 5.5 doesn't really expect it to be open all the time. I haven't chatted with Andy about this, but my sense is it's probably if not difficult, at least annoying and potentially more time consuming than we might imagine to re-jigger the whole page start to be under the quicknav if always open. So no, I wouldn't call it a "bug" or overwhelmingly high priority.

However, I think we'd agree it'd be the more elegant way to have that behave and should likely be incorporated that way in the future.

Bug is such an ugly word. ;)
