Add Browse and Upload facility missing

Guys,

I just upgraded my sites' Concrete5 to the latest version 5.4.2.1 yesterday and have found the Add Browse and Upload facility in File Manager has disapeared! I've gone into debug and refreshed the Schema but no change.

Anybody seen this please!

Ian

Hi Ian,

This sounds similar to an issue we've noticed lately, the cause of which we're still trying to pin down. Can you give me some background info on how you upgraded-- was it through a one-click installer service provided by your hosting company?

I'm guessing this is the problem: If you go to Dashboard > File Manager > Access, you'll see a box titled Allowed File Types. Is it empty? Here's what should normally be in that field, by default:

flv, jpg, gif, jpeg, ico, docx, xla, png, psd, swf, doc, txt, xls, xlsx, csv, pdf, tiff, rtf, m4a, mov, wmv, mpeg, mpg, wav, avi, m4v, mp4, mp3, qt, ppt, pptx, kml, xml

If it's empty, you won't be allowed to add any files to the concrete5 File Manager-- everything's disallowed-- so those add, browse, etc buttons automatically become unavailable. Adding that default list to the Allowed File Types field and clicking Save should restore your upload functionality.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for getting back to me as this was a little worrying. Yes I did use the one click upgrade and yes the Allowed file types was empty. I filled the field as suggested and all works now!

Thanks again.

Hi Ian,

Glad that got your site fixed up. Would you mind telling me what host you're on? We've been chatting with a couple of the one-click install services trying to figure out where the problem is happening, but as I mentioned we're still trying to pin it down.

Hi Matt,

Of course, I use Heart Internet as a reseller. See: (http://www.heartinternet.co.uk/ )

Mind you this was not an one click install, I've been on C5 for a year. This was a one click update of the C5 core from inside the C5 control panel.

I installed a new site today with no issue so my feeling is it isn't the install!

Hope this helps.

Ian

I had this same issue after using a Simple Script install if 5.4.2.2 on Bluehost. Thanks for posting this resolution.

Here's what we eventually discovered. It wasn't a problem with one-click installers or the core upgrade script, but rather an issue with a couple of specific concrete5 Marketplace add-ons:
