If you could check the licenses on these and mark which ones are MIT/Public Domain/GPL that may help to find someone who might chip in and do the upgrade and pass it back to the developer.

Page Hit Counter - Tested and works great

If you could contact this developer and either ask them to check the box that states it is 5.5 compatible, or if they no longer wish to support the addon, change the license to MIT/Public Domain/GPL and I will submit a new updated version to the PRB today or as soon as I have word.

Let's all try and work together and solve this problem. I think it's very solvable very quickly.

Thanks,
Mike

Calendar Nav - This developer has marked a version compatible with 5.0 but likely just needs to radio button at the bottom of the "Manage Files" that says "Serve latest version of add-on" so they don't have to explicitly mark each new version with a concrete5 version.

I attached a screenshot.

Social Icons - Everything works. The checkbox looks a little bit odd so I made one change to the form. That one is MIT licensed so I attached the new form file to this post.

Could you contact the developer and let them know that the new file is here and there is just one change at the top for "Use Large Icons"?

Thanks again,
Mike

Date Navigation - There is a note on this addon page that states that you should not use it as it is now in the core releases.
"""
** Notice: the date navigation block was bundled in the concrete5 core as of version 5.4.1. If you attempt to install it on concrete5.4.1 or greater it will error and not install (because it's already installed by default).
"""

Hi,
I'm the author of 3 of those addons (Manual Nav, Registrant Group, and Email List Signup). I apologize that I haven't been able to upgrade all of my addons yet -- the timing is very unfortunate as I'm in the middle of a major relocation and not able to devote any time to programming for another 1-2 weeks (I'm trying to answer support requests and check the forums when I can, but I don't always have internet connection).

I will get to those as soon as I can, but in the meantime you can manually install addons by putting them in your site's "packages" directory and they should be installable that way. It's possible there is some incompatibility that might prevent them from working, but I think it's most likely that they'll work just fine. If you do run into problems with any of those 3 addons, please report them to me -- this will make it easier for me to fix and upgrade when I get a chance.

Thanks for your patience.

It would be a lot better if you just sent a pre-sales question to the developer of the addon in question. You can already filter by 5.5 ready in the marketplace, so making a list here isn't going to help

Best wishes,

I hate to feature request on a rage Monday, but the ability to transfer a Marketplace addon to a different developer might be a nice idea, and might not be too difficult.

This reply from c5's ceo highlights why people are increasingly frustrated with c5's team. Instead of being thanked for spending his own unpaid time trying to help out and do what c5 should be doing, mkly is instead basically criticized. There wasn't even a hint of appreciation from c5's ceo.

It's amazing how much energy c5's team and fanboys expend defending c5's flaws and attacking those pushing for solutions to c5's flaws. Think how much better c5 would be if c5's team and fanboys stopped taking everything so personal and instead focused on understanding and solving c5's flaws.

I am just wondering why if you hate the product, the core team and the developers (fan boys) so much... why are you still hanging around here causing ruckus? Seems to me all of our lives (yours and the fan boys) would be a lot less stressful if you gave in to your hatred and found another product that can never satisfy your needs.

I'll actually do you one better, BiZStarZ.

It's MIT licensed. I encourage you to take a copy of our work, go buy cement6.org and show us how it's done.

Oh man. I wish I could remember where I've seen @bizstarz avatar before and stop feeding the troll.

Just for the record. @frz and company have been nothing but honest and respectful to me.

It make sense but

looking at the way it goes for now and the help mkly and hopefully others I think that public discussion in this case lead to some good results

Ok, so I went ahead and contacted the developers on the ones I replied about. One has already contacted me back and updated it, hopefully the others will soon.

If you could try and keep track of the MIT/Public Domain/GPL ones that aren't updating then I will be more than happy to fork and resubmit and support these myself if some time passes and it's obvious they aren't going to update it.

Thanks again,
Mike

The 5.5 filter in the marketplace is a helpful addition. For the next major upgrade, an official (consistent) "5.x-Ready" logo that could be generated by the c5 team on the individual add-on/theme pages as they are approved, would also be useful. That way if you go directly to the add-on/theme page rather than through a marketplace search, you would know that it's compatible (or not) with the updated version.

Good suggestion. Until then you can look at the bottom of the addon page under "Works With" and you will either see a range of supported versions of a version number with a "+" sign(meaning everything above that version).

Maybe you could submit an icon to use? I'm sure it would help in getting it added.

Lets make Concrete5 better:
If you know add on which not working with 5.5.X lets report it.
If you can help fix it, please do it.
Or you can contact the add on developer to make it compatible with 5.5 it also good.
Lets reduce the complain and hopefully the concrete5 will be better by this
