ok we did a fresh install downloaded from C5 and still had the same issue any ideas ?
drat. that's awfully weird. ;-|
have you tried a different browser? Seems odd but it might be a ie/chrome issue...
what type of web server are you running? We don't really test for IIS so it could be something like that.
can anyone else reproduce this? I can't here.
can you set this install up in a way you can share access, then perhaps jump in IRC and see if anyone there can see something off in your install?

I can't duplicate the issue. Filesets work OK for me, the process Mark describes and various other ways to create them and allocate to files. Single and multi files, one and multi sets at a time.
I use Chrome mainly, but also tested in IE8 and FF. No problems at all.

I've tried with several sites (local & remote), browsers and configurations. Cannot replicate. There must/is something else going on.
I have the same issues on all installs of C5 on the server
I have made a test install so you can see what is going on

removed ftp access
You just posted login details on a public forum. You need to delete these immediately and change the passwords for those accounts.
In future, please be sure to only PM or email such information.

This is just for a test one I will remove the install as soon as the issue is resolved I also restricted the ftp upload,
thoughts please

Thanks for that,
this is just for testing then will be removed

From an FTP account it is often possible to navigate out of the web space it starts in and get at other web space on the server. While it is open, the entire server could be compromised.
I added ftp just so that permissions could be checked to resolve the issue,
I have removed it and followed your advice thanks

I do not understand this, I set up a test store so that we could find a fix and all the details were removed, the whole site will be removed when the issue is found so what happened to the details ?

Hello,
did you get a chance to see what was going on ?
did you get a chance to see what was going on ?
If you could do this to test:
In your browser, right click and choose "inspect element". You should have a network tab available (chrome and firefox have slightly different implementations, but you should be able to get there). When you add the files to the file set, you should see three network events - add_to, search_results?832rlksdfljkblahblah, and search_sets_reload. Check the response for each of those (click on them and choose the "response" tab) and see if any of them are erroring out, and if so, what they're telling you.

I have sent you a pm with site access please post the results here as it may help someone else

Looks like you're getting a MySQL error on add_to (concrete/tools/files/add_to):
I don't have any idea why timestamp would be null, if that's some sort of server setting where it can't get a timestamp? Or something interfering with ADODB, as it seems like it always submits a null there, and there's supposed to be some magic that just makes that a timestamp. Maybe MySQL version? I'm just spitballing.
Also it looks like you have this installed in a subdirectory, which theoretically shouldn't be a problem, but probably better to assign it a subdomain or something along those lines rather than access it at a subdirectory, something like "testing.markstestsystems.co.uk").
1048: Column 'timestamp' cannot be null] in EXECUTE("INSERT INTO FileSetFiles(fsfID,fID,fsID,timestamp,fsDisplayOrder) VALUES (NULL,'10','4',NULL,'0')")
