Adding the Blog functionality built into New C5 to an old site

I built a site for a company about 18 months ago and they have recently come back to me looking to add a shopping cart & a blog to the site.

I will be updating the site to the latest version of C5 to install the latest version of Core Commerce and I was wondering if the improved Blog functionality from later versions of C5 can be built into the new site easily or would I be better off adding a Blog Module from the Marketplace?

What do you guys think?

Speaking as an addon author, I'm obviously bias....but the blog packages come with a lot of niceties, and then most importantly a clean, user-friendly user interface. So beyond the niceties, you should determine how much time you want to spend training and setting something up for them. To me...that's the real value of something like ProBlog..the extra features...but then also the time you save in training and setup. And for even ComposerBlog...sets everything up for you in one click. A real time saver.

Bias or not, thats ggreat advice Chad. I'll probably run with Composer blog. Looks like it will have everything I need and like you say, it's the training that the killer. Defeats the purpose of trying to find a low cost solution if they are gonna have to pay for an extra couple hours training.
