Advanced File Manager

Hi All,

I have a website that we have thousands of images store in the file manager with 100's of file sets. It has got to the stage now where the standard sets are not specific enough and I was wondering if their is a way to create sub sets within s file set to enhance the storage in the file manager..?

If this is not achievable.... how difficult would it be to update code of the file manager to have a more advanced storage facility for files.

Would you advise updating the core code..? Or has any one tried to achieve this..?

Thanks

You can create some attributes for files. Perhaps a multiple select attribute, with further sub-categories set up as values for the attribute.

Then set the file manager to display that attribute and use it for further filtering via 'advanced search'.

If you want a genuine hierarchy of categories, someone reported working along those lines in forum posts a year or so ago. You may find some tips further back in the forums.

Am i right in assuming the c5 team are not looking at addressing this in the future roadmap...

I have no inside knowledge. You should ask that on the next Totally Random.
